Advanced Mobile IV, Waltham, MA

I will be using Advanced Mobile IV before, DURING, and after the 2024 Boston Marathon Quad, in which I will be running the Boston Marathon course 4 consecutive times.. I am always on the move and they make it super convenient as they come to your home, office, or in my case marathon course!

I live in Arizona and the temps are already heating up here. The summer is around the corner and it is super important to hydrate properly before, during and after being out in the 115 temps. Hydrating before will help prevent heat related issues including fatigue, and heat stroke. Hydrating after helps with recovering properly, and will leave you feeling great throughout the day.

Marathon Sports

I grew up in Waltham, Massachusetts and started running in 2013, and started out with some very average running shoes. I signed up for my first half marathon a few months into my running career, and knew I needed better shoes! Being a newbie, I polled a bunch of people and strangers on Facebook with the question: “What is the best running shoe!” I got some brands and models as responses from people, but most people said that everybody’s body, and feet are different.” What works for one, might not be a good fit for another. Some shoes are meant for speed and shorter distances, others are meant for longer distances and longer time on foot.

It was suggested to me to head into your local running store, and try on a few pairs and have a professional help you. It was told to me that they will have you run on a treadmill and record your gait, and analyze it and pick a few shoes based on the results and their knowledge. So that’s what I did, I went to Marathon Sports and bought my first pair of real running shoes and they were a game changer. My feet and body felt better than before and I did better in my training and did well in my half marathon. I lived in Massachusetts for the next 7 years and I bought several pairs of shoes, along with attire, especially official Boston Marathon gear that were limited and exclusive items.

Trail Toes

I was introduced to Trail Toes in 2015 in my 3rd season of running. I had just got into running ultramarathons, which is MORE than the traditional 26.2 miles of a marathon and found that most are either on gnarly terrain, through water and harsh weather conditions, or on repetitive courses. I had chronic blister issues while playing sports growing up, and once I made the leap to ultras, I started to have these issues, until I discovered Trail Toes

I very rarely get blisters because I always lube my feet, and any other areas that are susceptible to chafing before, and during events and I never have issues. The bream really works even in the harsh desert summers here in Arizona. I have run over 20 different 100 mile distances and only have had a few small blisters. People were amazed at the conditions of my feet after the Cocodona 250 miler here in Arizona, which had 2 river crossings, average temps during the day were 95 degrees, and climbed over 40,000 of very all while slipping on tricky rocks, with my feet constantly shifting around. I had one very small blister when others lost layers of skin, had toes that blistered and fused together, but I came out inscathed thanks to Trail Toes.

3 years in a row, I ran on a treadmill for 66.6 hours each time, and had ZERO blisters!

Tailwind Nutrition

When I got into running, I quickly started escalating up the distances. I wanted more, more , more! In 2015 I got to where I was running marathon distance regularly, like most people I was hitting “the wall” around the 20 mile mark or after about 3 hours of running. I tried some other products that gave me a stomach ache, and quite frankly didn’t work. I remember being on one of the Facebook group threads and seeing the word “Tailwind” over and over again and finally decided to ask a few questions myself. When I asked what it was I got a wise ass answer something like: “it’s cremated unicorn, bat’s blood and baby’s poop! “ I did get a serious answer and referred to their website. I decided to give it a try and I was more than pleasantly surprised.

No gut bombs, no bonking, no issues! I had sustainable energy throughout my runs every damn time. I’ve been using Tailwind Nutrition ever since including all 6 of my Boston Marathon Quads, which is 105 miles. I have run over 100 miles over 30 times, including Cocodona 250 and have always used Tailwind. Its serving size is 200 calories. Here’s a secret about me: during road marathons I carry a handheld bottle with three times the amount of Tailwind and that’s all I use for nutrition during the marathons. I sip the bottle the entire 26.2 miles and have NEVER had any issues.
