Welcome to Running Without the Devil

“Whether it is in life or in distance running, it’s the current process that sets us up for the future.  All one can be certain about is putting the next step forward.  Once you start moving forward, just like walking or running, you don’t even realize it but you are moving forward.  You can’t think about what’s going to happen in 100 steps time, or on mile 20.  Focus on  how do I just place this next step not perfectly.   Step with your best intention possible.  That requires one to be grounded and stay in the moment” – Henry Ward

Making a Difference one Step at a Time

Running Without the Devil is a Charitable  Organization started by Ultra-Runner and Recovering Alcoholic and Addict Henry Ward.

Henry’s mission is to share his story and his love of running to help those who are struggling with addiction and other life issues in order to help lead them down the path to recovery.

RWOTD's Mission, Vision and Goals

Mission

To help people who are suffering from addiction get treatment and aftercare they need, and to emphasize running and fitness as a critical part of their recovery and maintenance plans.

Vision

To help remove the negative stigma associated with addiction.  Alcoholics and addicts do not want to be the way they are,  It is a disease without a cure, but with treatment and aftercare we can recover and often thrive in society.

Goals

To build a community and network of advocates for recovery from addiction.  We will work together to raise funds and awareness to help as many alcoholics and addicts as possible.
